Dark Knight Rises Teaser Trailer!

Any fan of action films, comic book movies, or just good old sci-fi / fantasy is dying to see the final act of the Christopher Nolan - Batman / Dark Knight trilogy. The first two films represent perhaps the best DC comics films of all time. Does anybody doubt that the third one will be fabulous?

Why are they ending this fabulous series? Apparently so they can reboot the franchise in time for the JLA continuity films. Now that's setting up the rebooted Batman for failure, isn't it?

Check out the teaser!

  1. While I no doubt assume the new film will make serious bank, I don't know if it will top The Dark Knight's box office.

But what's more important is story. And for that, I fear the curse of "THE THREE." More often than not, the 3rd film has been the biggest disappointment of a film franchise. So, let's consult the internet gods and do some research.

    1. The Godfather Trilogy - the original scored 100% critics, 97% fans
    Part II - 98% critics, 96% fans
    Part III - 68% critics 79% fans

    2. Halloween - Classic horror franchise
    Original - 93% / 85%
    Part 2 - 27%(wow) / 67%
    Part 3 - 33% / 28%
Understandably, critics are harsh on horror movies, but clearly horror fans pan part 3.

    Spider-Man - Marvel's flagship character
    Original - 85% / 69%
    Part 2 - 93% / 81%
    Part 3 - 63% / 54%

X-Men - Another Mainstay of Marvel.
    Original - 82% / 83%
    Part 2 - 88% / 84%
    Part 3 - 57% / 73%

Batman - The 90's Michael Keaton version
    Original - 71% / 78%
    Part 2 - 79% / 68%
    Part 3 - 44% / 42%

Rush Hour - Great buddy cop series
    Original - 62% / 79%
    Part 2 - 52% / 77%
    Part 3 - 19% / 68%

...and it just seems to go on and on like this. There are some notable exceptions though...

LotR RotK was well received, Rocky 3, while critically blasted, was a hit with fans.

Som, who knows. Will TDKR be among the exceptions, or follow with the flow?

  2. I agree that sometimes a stinker film can come out of nowhere. But some of the franchise above were not a trilogy - they were an ongoing series, some of which never made it past movie 3.

I have EVERY faith that DK3 will be spectactular. Imean, the first two weren't just GOOD they were FANTASTIC. If #3 isn't, it will be a terrible letdown to fans of the first two films.
