Geek Gear: The Jedi Path
Oh yeah, there was this okay Jedi Path book released awhile ago as well. I'm sure it's okay and everything if you're into, you know, nobility, self-sacrifice, and honor. But I'm betting it doesn't have lights or play music. Stupid Jedi.

You, Too, Can Be a REAL Jedi!
So, how does one become a Jedi? Aren't I, "Too old for the training?" Well, it turns out, I just have to read this book (and the three after it): http://newilluminatiprotocols.com/media/TheBookOfJedi-np.php?RSID=1146&r=jedi2
The thing is, these people are SERIOUS. I mean, SERIOUSLY serious. Here's what is says from the New Illuminati Protocols website:
"The Book of Jedi is a free publication that prepares the Initiate for training in a Jedi Academy. It has been imbued with specific thought seeds and a secret internal rhythm that will awaken an awareness of The Force within you. Simply by reading through this document in it’s entirety, certain inner preparations will be made within you. The Jedi Order has existed quietly on Earth for centuries, awaiting for this moment in history to come forward and make our training available to many more who qualify to learn the ways of The Force. In the final pages, instructions will be given to you should you choose to request additional information about formal training in one of our academies."
The thing is, these people are SERIOUS. I mean, SERIOUSLY serious. Here's what is says from the New Illuminati Protocols website:
So look out, bullies who picked on my in high school. I'm a JEDI now and I don't take no gruff from nobody! Man, it was easier to become a Jedi than it was to bulk up on muscle like that Charles Atlas ad on the back of comic books promised me! Sweet!
Perhaps this explains all of those Jedi reported in the UK census...

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi
I've got to admit - it's a question I've never spent much time thinking about. Where did the Jedi and the Sith come from? In Star Wars history, there is literally tens of thousands of years of history between these two factions. But certainly there had to be a time before force powers were discovered, right? How did that happen exactly? Well, that's the question the upcoming Dark Horse limited series, Dawn of the Jedi, sets out to answer. And I've go to admit - now that the question's been posed, I'm very anxious to find out the answer!

Real World Jedi Living Abroad
It appears that the Jedi just don't live in a galaxy far, far away, long, long ago.
400,000 Jedi officially live in the United Kingdom. NOT a joke. At least, that's according to a recent census done there. Don't believe me? Check out the results here: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:E29HdeCZYqwJ:paganwiccan.about.com/b/2011/02/23/you-can-still-be-a-jedi-on-englands-census.htm+you+can+be+a+jedi&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&source=www.google.com and here: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-21/u-k-powerless-to-stop-jedis-witches-spoiling-2011-census.html
No wonder they won World War I and II! I'm just glad the Jedi were too preoccupied to squash our small American Rebellion in 1776.

Of course, according to Wikipedia, census results in countries such as New Zealand, Canada, and Australia all have tens of thousands of Jedi living there. Who knew!

Jedi America
What could make Captain America even cooler? If he was a Jedi! Can you image Captain America with the shield AND a Lightsaber (or two)? Well, in my house this fantasy has become the reality.
My four year old son, pictured below, saved his money for WEEKS to buy the Captain America shield I previously posted about. It's nice to know that somebody reads this blog! He hasn't seen the Captain America movie yet but he has seen some Avengers cartoons including the animated movie, Avengers Next. He idolizes Thor and Captain America. The next item on his list to purchase is the Thor hammer I blogged about. Nice!
This has gotten me thinking... has there ever been a Jedi with a shield? If not, why not? With the wide variety of lightsabers and fighting styles you'd think SOME Jedi in the thousands of years of Jedis would have had a shield! If you're aware of a Jedi with a shield, let me know!
But back to Captain America... I think he's force sensitive. How else can you explain the shield throw that bounces 12 times only to strike his opponent's gun hand? Give that man a lightsaber and watch kick some terrorist tail!
